The very, very first story I ever wrote was for a second grade book contest. It was entitled the Man in White, it was like a murder mystery. I still have the book. After that I dabbled with poetry for school and kept a journal of my thoughts, feeling, poetry and short stories. I didn't think I would ever write for the public. Live long enough and there is no telling what you might do.
What is your writing process?
I just write when I feel like it. I might get a thought in the middle of being out doing something I will jot it down on whatever. I get home put it on the computer, wait a few days and come back to reread it.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I can not remember the first but there have so many stories that have impacted me.
How do you approach cover design?
I leave cover designs to my most artistic little sister.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I can't narrow it down to five books because I love ALL the books I have read. At this particular point in time anything by Kim Harris would be a favorite. I love the smooth integration of witches, vamps pixies, etc. into what we consider our world. There is never a dull moment in the Hallows, it has that what if factor going. The same applies to Cassandra Glass and her 2 series Immortal instrument and Infernal Devices with the "downworlders"; Dan Brown - Angels and Devils. the plot kept me on my toes second guessing what was going to happen.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read science fiction for fun or action books. I just love to read ANYTHING
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Favorite reading device would be my Sony Tablet or my NOOK. Yes it would be a tie on the devices but the platform is the nook app.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Haven't started on that yet. So I will keep you posted as to what works for me.
Describe your desk
A complete organized mess.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Hawaii and am grateful because it showed me diversity and I had lots of time to read. A few of my stores are loosely based on my experiences growing up -- my perspective of them anyway.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
