Yes I certainly do. It was some 30 years ago and I had written quite a few short stories in Dutch, my mother tongue. Just for the heck of it I mailed one to a literary magazine. I did not expect much of it but a few weeks later I received a letter informing me they had accepted the story. Included was a cheque. It wasn’t much but that was not important. It was the sheer pleasure of inviting my then girlfriend for dinner thanks to a story I had written.
The few reviews and feedback I found in other literary magazine were very valuable.
Shortly after we split and I stopped writing.
A few years ago I started writing again. In English this time. That felt and still feels very natural albeit my English is not perfect at all.

My writings are triggered by an event that marked me but mostly it starts with ideas floating around in my head while I’m falling asleep. Some of these ideas stay with me and I start writing in my head.

I have quite a few favorite authors. Most of them write erotica and I love a good read. On the other hand this question could be about being influenced. Charles Bukowski influenced me the most. Even if his writing could be seen as simple it triggers my mind's eye in many ways. I love the way he describes the dark side, both that of life and his own. I am impressed what he could do with a limited vocabulary.
French writer Michel Houellebecq is also an influence because of the topics, human relationships and sexuality, and how they interact with the losers and winners one find in a free-market like our society.

I love reading erotica, by preference written by women. Non-fiction about bdsm and rope bondage comes in second.

Over the years my blog has become a very personal diary. A few months ago Princess, my partner, told me she would love to have our blog as a (printed) book. She feared one day the blog would evaporate and our memories lost.

So I started thinking about making this possible. I knew Smashwords already so it was a logic choice. I used some on-line tools to transform a part of my blog into what could become a book.

The first volume of Princess and I is online since a few weeks and I decided to make it a free ebook. We'll see what will happen next.

I own a Tolino backlit & e-Ink eBook and I'm very happy with it. Reading on my iPad for something longer than a few pages has a negative impact on my eyesight when I stop reading. I see everything in double.
I use the excellent and free Calibre for my eBook library.
