Interview with M.D. Fryson

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the south and I have lived in a few different areas. I can't say where I grew up influenced my writing as much as who influenced my writing.
When did you first start writing?
About 2 years ago...I was always a career mom.
What's the story behind your latest book?
This is a story about a spirit guide that was born as a spirit guide and is at the time in her existence where she is ready to look after humans. Before she can really be who she wants to be, a crisis happens and the realms leader has it out for her father for taking her mother away from him, or so the leader, Warrick thinks. Warrick is trying to pin crimes on his father as a cover for getting rid of him by casting him into the hall of souls where all souls of spirit guides go at the end of their existence. In order for Meridian, the main character to save her father they go to the fairy realm for help in hopes that the queen will turn back all the fallen, once spirit guides back so they can ban together and take back the realm of Etheria. Of course the queen has her own requests and that is to get the fairy book back from the dark realm and travel to a coven in Salem for the fairy quartz. Through her trials she is followed by her best friend who is in love with her, finds a crush on a new guide to the realm but is falling in love with a human boy who is the son of a fallen spirit guide. They have to overcome a series of challenges and in the end....well read and find out!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Rejections! Agents may say they are interested in a genre but usually they are very picky and one agent only represents one opinion. After and agent encouraged me to keep submitting and writing...that's what I did and then decided to take it into my own hands.

Taking all of my beliefs and character traits of the people in my life good and bad and weaving it into a love story...its therapy

When I get fans...they would be the next important thing next to the story. I think everyone who reads this book will find a way to relate to the characters and the story behind it.
What are you working on next?
This is a series. I haven't decided how many books will be in in for sure. However...the plan is atleast 3.
So I am on book 2 right now.
Who are your favorite authors?
Meredith Wild, Jk Rollings and Cassandra Clare.

There are way more...I do read a lot but it can be self help and about other hobbies in my life.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My children! I am a mom and there is nothing more amazing in this world than being a mother and the importance of who I am as a mother is very important to me and how that influences my 3 children.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Read..jogging and hiking..spending time with my family. I love horses and will get back to that hobby again someday and always up for a trip somewhere!
