Interview with Fred Herrmann

What's the story behind your latest book?
Astronomy books are usually written to impress the reader as opposed to letting the reader understand the subject without getting frustrated in the process. Astronomy for Everyone is written to be easily read and understood.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Independent publishing is relatively easy these days. It allows all people of all backgrounds to share their knowledge at the click of a button. I love astronomy and astrophotography. Astronomy for Everyone features many of my astronomy images which have been featured by National Geographic, Sky and Telescope and Astronomy magazines.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love seeing things that are normally complicated and technical explained in a manner that makes sense. I like to use analogies and examples in order to get my point across to the reader.
What do your fans mean to you?
Fans are everything. Without readers there is no author!
What are you working on next?
I'm working on a new book called "The Coexistence of Science and Religion". It should be ready by the end of April 2016.
Who are your favorite authors?
Richard Feynman and Doris Kerns Goodwin
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I love life and the daily challenges it presents...
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Astronomy, radio controlled models, astrophotography and of course writing...
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I look for topics of interest.
What is your writing process?
The basic idea comes first, followed by the outline, many drafts and proof readings and finally publishing.
How do you approach cover design?
I try to find an image that relates to and displays the theme of my book.
