Mostly crime or espionage fiction
What is your e-reading device of choice?
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
None as yet..I'm new to this business
Describe your desk
Cluttered. But I know where everything is. No-one allowed to touch or tidy it.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
NE England. Not a great deal
When did you first start writing?
Years ago. But never published anything.
What's the story behind your latest book?
A woman's sexual fantasy as described to me.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Intrigue about the genre. And a desire to measure the impact of my interpretation of erotica.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Allowed me to publish so far.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Feedback from a satisfied reader - in all the interpreations of the word ;-)
What do your fans mean to you?
A great deal. Their revelations and suggestions inspire the next chapters
What are you working on next?
A story built around another fantasy revealed to me involving sexual activity on a train. And one based on a woman's reaction to some time spent at a naturist's home and what confronted her.
Who are your favorite authors?
John le Carre. Lee Childs. Robert Ludlum.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The excitement I get from creating my stories.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Sipping wine on my terrace. Caring for olive and citrus groves. Relating to my friends and family.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
By chance usually unless I search for specific authors.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. It was an erotic story written for my partner during a temporary separation. It served a very useful purpose for both of us.
What is your writing process?
I write fast but irregularly.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Perhaps not the first but I was much influenced by "Coral Island" by RM Ballantyne.
I was an avid reader and of course enjoyed Richmal Crompton's "William" series, CE Johns "Biggles" series, PG Wodehouse and Arthur Ransome.
How do you approach cover design?
With pleasure.
