Interview with Gabriela Louis

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love to cook. I especially like to make bread.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I like to find new authors, so I first check the free books. If I like the first book, I invest in the sequels.
What is your writing process?
Something enters my head. It can be trigger by a conversation with my husband or a news article I read. I think about the person and somehow the story develops.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read romance and suspense.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I have an ipad that I use, but I also love my Kindle. It depends on which one my kids are not using at the moment.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I have moved a lot growing up. I am from South America. I love my country-- Perú. I am from the coast and they have the most beautiful beaches ever. At 14, we moved to California, and that was fun. A couple of years later we moved to Florida, where I currently reside. This has influence my writing when I imagine the different sceneries. I picture those places in my head.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It has encouraged me to trust my writing and put it out there.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
It gives me time to reflect and time to find myself.
What do your fans mean to you?
They mean everything to me and I really hope they like my writing.
What are you working on next?
I am working on the story of Mariah and Andrew, the sequel to the book Second Chances: The Power of Renewal.
Who are your favorite authors?
Lori Wick, Janet Evanovich, Karen Kingsbury
