Interview with Timothy O'Shea

What do you read for pleasure?
I like Lee Child who authors the Jack Reacher books. I also have been breezing through all of the Harry Bosch novels by Michael Connelly and started his Mickey Haller books.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Usually my phone because I can read with the lights off and not have any problems.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I am still starting out. I want to develop a following with readers that like my book(s). Right now I am typing this interview to reach out to readers and fellow writers. I have a twitter where I also hope to reach people. Twitter: @GTCauthor
Describe your desk
Desktop computer, speakers and a container of Clorox disinfecting wipes lol
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Tacoma, Washington. My book Cherry Street takes place in Tacoma. Cherry Street doesn't exist (as far as I know) in Tacoma but because I know, and am comfortable with Tacoma, that's were I chose the setting for my first book to be.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing about ten years ago with my brother. We started a zombie novel (which should be published soon).
What's the story behind your latest book?
A child has gone missing and the police realize it is a kidnapping and could be related to another abduction from four years ago. While the police investigate, a widower suspects his neighbors of being anything but neighborly.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I want to be my own boss. Seriously. I want to make a living and live on my own terms and enjoy what I do.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I'm thankful they exist to be honest. I wouldn't know where to start without them.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Creating something from a blank paper. Developing characters is great. I like having the freedom to use my brain and make something I hope people will enjoy.
