Interview with Gary Davis

When did you first start writing?
In high school, I was a member of the school newspaper staff. Writing stories for the paper prompted me to want to write other things. I wrote scripts for school plays and short stories for other school publications. It was at this time I realized I had a passion for writing.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I have always been an adventure and Science Fictions fan and wanted to write a story that would fit into that genre. A close friend of mine named Willie Dubose has one of the weirdest and most fertile minds I have ever encountered. He has a bizarre and sometimes hilarious imagination that spawned most of the characters in my book. It seems every conversation with him generates ideas for more characters or another story line.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Knowing that my writing will be the source of entertainment for many people and offer them an opportunity to escape reality if only for a short period of time.
What are you working on next?
The Adventure of Rimi and Yatta will be a series so I am working on the next two parts of that story. Stay tuned for part 2, The Adventures of Rimi and Yatta - Solar Crisis.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading and cooking. Both bring enjoyment and allow my creativity to show.
