No, since I'm of retirement age, It's been quite a while since I've written that first story. Not having published it, it was lost in a fire.
What is your writing process?
I try to write daily, but I'm a mother of a severely brain damaged 32 year old son. He requires a lot of my time. So I write when I can find the time. I've also adopted a developmentally slow girl, age 20, and I work with her. Even though, I've completed 7 short stories, and looking to produce a novel.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
No, I don't remember.

My cover designs, has to emerge from within the pages of my manuscript. I ask myself, "What stands out in my story, that would identify my book?" Then I focus on portraying that image correctly.

I don't have a hand held device, so it will have to be my PC.

E-book so far. I just started writing again. I started in August 2014.
Describe your desk
A clutter menagerie of papers, notes, books, pens, pencils, T.V. remote control, business envelopes, head phones, scissors, CD's, Printer ink, Cell phone, clock, camera, air freshener spray can, blank disks, spiral binder notebooks, manilla envelopes, stylus pens, and staplers. Aren't you sorry you asked that question?
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the south Bronx, New York, USA. I've seen a vast diverse linguistic way of living surrounding me. The many cultural individuals broadened my perspective of life. It has taught me that all of mankind, no matter how different they may appear to others, are special in their own way. Their language is special, their food is special, their attire is special, their style is special. It all attests to the multitude of variations that God has allowed to exist on this planet, to live in harmony with each other.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The last short story I've written is about an eleven year old girl, who is molested, around the same time a murder is committed. This prompts her to tell a lie. This lie, is her way of getting even, but it inadvertently causes the untimely death of two individuals.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords, has allowed me to project my story to as many readers as possible, at a price that's affordable, and on media objects that's efficient. Whether the PC, ipad, tablets, or whatever is used, it's easy, economical, and satisfying.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My greatest joy in writing is reaching the moral mentality of readers. We all can be moved to do certain things. T.V. advertisements move us to buy their products even if we don't need them, at that time. Doctors can move us to accept certain procedures for the betterment of our health. Our parents, teachers, friends, peers, move us to act a certain acceptable way as a sign of maturity. My greatest joy is showing in story form, why, a certain attitude is not acceptable in society. How morally wrong it is.
What are you working on next?
Next I'm preparing a novel that has never been told, anywhere, but is much needed in all societies worldwide.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My children, and a strong will to continue this life God has given me.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Studying, cooking, cleaning, shopping, traveling, visiting friends and relatives, entertaining guests, planning events. etc.
When did you first start writing?
In my twenties.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
An independent author, - (indie) - realizes that this isn't a journey with one path. There are many roads to writing and getting noticed. It does not mean we have to forgo agents, editors, publicist or pass, on those once-upon dreamed traditional deals. It's a choice taken on a different road. I've decided to use all venues of publishing, starting with E-books.
What do your fans mean to you?
Having fans would be invigorating, inspirational, satisfying, enjoyable, captivating, and reassuring to say the least.
Who are your favorite authors?
I like a lot of writings, mostly short stories, no one particular author.
What do you hope to get out of writing?
I want to be viewed as a true to life, real, author. (with all the bells and whistles).
