Interview with George Watson

What's the story behind your latest book?
I've always read science fiction in my spare time, but with work and bringing up a family in England there didn't seem to much time for anything else.
It is only now that I am finally retired that I have the time to write.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Obviously I have submitted stories to the mainstream SciFi publishers but it seems it is a small pool with a lot of fish!
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It is quite nice to see my name on a book in Smashwords but it is a little early for any success, fingers crossed!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
At completion of a story as I re-read it I feel that there is a little of my inner self on the page.
What do your fans mean to you?
At the moment I have only one - my wife!
What are you working on next?
More stories concerning the Krell Empire of the Green Sun.
Who are your favorite authors?
Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, George R. Stewart and Stephen King.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Living in Spain, it is the sunshine as opposed to the UK weather, but my wife always has something that needs my attention.....
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Walking in the sunshine, watching TV (Horror & SciFi for me. 'The Walking Dead is my current favorite) and DIY.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Usually from Amazon as both my wife and I have a Kindle. And from the numerous free websites i.e. 'Arthur's Bookshelf'
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
After many false starts it was called 'Winter's sky' and was quite awful. That was before laptops etc and pounding on a typewriter with my mechanics fingers was discouraging work.
