Interview with Marc Stewart

When did you first start writing?
About a year ago. I hadn't done much before that other than a few letters to my daughter on special occasions.
So what prompted you to start if you never had before?
I guess my desire to share a little bit of Scotland with folks that had always wanted to go, but hadn't. Or couldn't.
Do you think things may have been different had you known your real heritage?
Certainly. Growing up, I believed I was part of a royal Scottish line..but a dead one since the last Stuart king. Had I known that my distant cousin was a Baron living in the house of my ancestors for 600 years, I think I would have gone over sooner.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. I wouldn't have bothered doing any of this if it weren't for them. The memories and stories are mine, they always will be. It's only because others showed interest in them that I decided to share them.
What are you working on next?
My adventures in the Scottish Highlands...and beyond. I've spent the past 15 years working myself into a Scotland frenzy culminating with my trip in Aug. of 2018. The next book will cover all of it.

Marc Stewart visited Scotland in 2001. He had heard stories about Scotland all his life from his mother and grandmother. He yearned to visit the place of his ancestors and walked on the battlefield of Culloden as well as visit the Iron age sites on Orkney. His descriptions of his experiences will make you laugh and want to visit Scotland yourself.
