Interview with Helena Golden

Describe your desk
My desk is a tall very narrow rectangular piece of blonde wood on minimalistic white legs. Just enough room for my iMac, keyboard, mouse and a few miscellaneous items that are reflective of the week that I'm in and what I'm working on. The desk sits beside a large window. The light warms the room and inspires me to write. I have said I live beside the window and this isn't far from the truth.
When did you first start writing?
I have always loved writing but only really started writing a couple of years ago. It was sparked by a personal transformation.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the countryside in Ireland. I always loved cities though and given my Mum was from London, we spent quite a few summers there. Country life is quieter and brings out the imagination in a young child. The creative in me was probably born out of the fact that I had to find my own entertainment. Often times that was in my imagination.
