Interview with Gail Morgan

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Oh yes! It was for a comprtition, and I wrote a story about grocery shopping with a funny twist in the tail. I won second prize, and that is when I realized that I could write stories.
What is your writing process?
I don't have a proper process. I allow ideas to form in my mind; I may go for weeks without writing, and then, when my ideas are properly formed, I will sit and write for however long it takes.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I was an avid reader as a child. My earliest memories of books must be 'Noddy' by Enid Blyton. I progressed to 'The Famous Five' and 'The Secret Seven' - all written by Enid Blyton. I think more than anything else, these books inspired me with a sense of adventure,
How do you approach cover design?
Very simple. The cover must be eye catching and convey the content of the book.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
My favourite book is the bible. I read from it every day, and I learn from it every day. After the bible, I prefer reading by authors than single books.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love Marion Keys books for complete relaxation.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle
What's the story behind your latest book?
After leaving my husband, I was so angry that I sat down and wrote this book to get all of my frustrations out. I then left the book for years, and only came back to it when I was in a better frame of mind. I then re-phrased a lot of my work, because I want marriages to succeed.
