Interview with Isabel Jordan

What is your e-reading device of choice?
They're all the greatest inventions known to man, but I'm a Kindle Fire user. I call it "The Precious."
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Twitter and Goodreads have been invaluable to me.
Describe your desk
That's where the magic happens. I could tell you about it...but then I'd have to kill you.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small town in Ohio. I'm pretty sure it was complete boredom that forced me into writing.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing in 2001 during a move to Indiana. I wrote seven novels between 2001 and 2014 when Semi-Charmed was released. Unfortunately, every pre-Semi-Charmed novel I wrote was unreadable drivel. Those manuscripts will never see the light of day (as long as there is breath in my lungs), but I learned so many valuable "what not to do" lessons during that time that I can't really regret any of them.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I wrote a blog post on that not too long ago. Check it out: http://www.izzyjo.com/uncategorized/be-your-own-biggest-fan-others-will-follow/
Will there be a sequel to Semi-Charmed?
Absolutely. I love Harper and Riddick too much to never revisit them.
What are you working on next?
I currently have a contemporary romance novel in the works (no paranormal elements), and a sequel to Semi-Charmed. Maybe you guys can tell me which one you'd rather read first...
Who are your favorite authors?
The list is long and distinguished. In paranormal romance, I love Ilona Andrews and Jeanine Frost. In contemporary romance, I love Jennifer Crusie and Jill Shalvis. But there are more than I could ever list here. (Hi, my name is Isabel and I'm a reading-aholic)
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The voices in my head won't let me sleep until I've written their stories...
