Interview with Josey Pickering

What motivated you to become an indie author?
I have loved to write since I was a tiny little thing. Even when I couldn't express myself verbally, I could express myself with pen and paper. People have pushed me to published my works for decades now, and I finally caved!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Helping others feel less alone or find their place. Books were an escape for me, the arts in general were, and through fictional characters and authors I found people I could relate to.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. I know it's cliche but it's true. You could have an awful day and the support can be so overwhelming in the best ways, it's the best medicine.
What are you working on next?
A zombie book series with my lovely fiancee.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Lily Rabe and my tribe.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Hiking, spending time with loved ones, crafting, medical marijuana research.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I think I was around 8 and it was about a snow man and a rabbit.
When did you first start writing?
Elementary school!
