Interview with Kay Casias

Published 2014-10-08.
Who are your favorite authors?
Uhh... John Green, J.K. Rowling, Veronica Roth, other people??? (/'-')/
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Tumblr.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I'm usually on Tumblr or judging people on Facebook
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Tumblr, Wattpad, AO3, Fanfiction
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, unfortunately, and it's currently being edited. Severely. So many grammar errors.
What is your writing process?
I think of what sounds good in my head, write them down, and go from there if they're good.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yeah, and I loved it, and I don't remember the title.
How do you approach cover design?
Not on paint, maybe photo editing apps.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
5. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, because it really made me understand fiction and how to creatively write
4.Nevermore, because it was probably the best ending of a series that I've ever read.
3.Frostbite, VA's sequel, because she killed people without being a guardian
2. Vampire Academy, because it has a lot of action
1.TFIOS, because that book seriously messed me up emotionally
What do you read for pleasure?
Fanfiction. If Tumblr had a history on the app, I'd be screwed.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My iPhone, because its bae.
Describe your desk
A cluttered mess.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Greatest joy? My greatest joy is being able to write without boundaries, and defy rules that most people wouldn't bend because it makes a story that much better.
What are you working on next?
I'm thinking of writing a diary of my main character's daily life, to show something more that really can't be explained on the sidelines of the main book.
