Interview with Jack Scarborough

What motivated you to become an indie author?
I've always loved writing. A friend suggested that I write down some of my ideas. The rest is history!
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
The site is very well structured and has all the information I need in one place.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Reader feedback. It means that the stuff I write has an impact. Positive and negative feedback is invaluable to making a better product. It's funny, you don't always know what the reaction is going to be.
What do your fans mean to you?
They mean everything!
What are you working on next?
I have a full-length novel in the works, building on the themes in my short stories. To be published 2017.
Who are your favorite authors?
I love Tina Folsom.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Writing. Then, writing!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love the Devon countryside, cycling and walking. I also love theatre, music and playing the piano.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Goodreads is a good start.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, but the least said about it the better!
What is your writing process?
If I think it, I write it down. Then I shape, re-shape and iterate until I get the right product. I don't think there is a right or wrong way of writing. Whatever works for you is the right answer.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
How do you approach cover design?
I go by instinct.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Will have to think about that one!
What do you read for pleasure?
Romance and erotica
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Published 2016-11-09.
