I'm what's known as a pantser. In other words I write by the seat of my pants. :) I start out with something that I've heard on the news or read in current events and then build my plot from there.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Not sure it was the first book I ever read but Black Beauty had a tremendous impact on me as a child. I think it was one of the first books I read where I learned life isn't always cotton candy and rainbows.
How do you approach cover design?
Cover design is the number one thing a reader sees when searching for a book, so to me it makes sense to hire a professional. I went with Kim Killion Group, and love my cover!
What do you read for pleasure?
I read romance of any kind. My fav is suspense, but once in a while I'll switch to contemporary, or paranormal.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Easy, Kindle. Love my Kindle. :)
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I think Social Media. It's important to have a good presence online. Keep the negativity and personal away, be friendly. And don't push the book!
Describe your desk
My kitchen table :) I look out at a full grown Cherry tree and once in a while a hummingbird drops by to say hello.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small town, third generation, so everyone knew our family. Good, and bad. LOL
When did you first start writing?
I started writing in school, and found I liked my imaginary worlds.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My WIP is a continuation of my series, Wounded Hearts. In this book Jared, my hero, returns to his hometown, Tidal Falls, to find himself a father. Annie Campbell had loved Jared since high school but he'd never known. Best friends, they came together for one night of scorching passion, and the next morning he was gone. Eight years later Jared returns a changed man and wants to right a wrong. But an enemy from his past follows. Can he prove his worth before it's too late?
