Interview with Jeannine Fortier

What is your writing process?
I like to write about things that means something to me or about my experiences that have had an impact.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Searching Amazon or other book publishing companies
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, it was many years ago a short story called the Untold Story. Short stories and poetry is what I have been doing until just recently.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
there have been many stories over the years that have had an impact. Too many to state, but one recent was the Measure of a Man by Sidney Poitier and the Call the Midwifel.
How do you approach cover design?
It comes to me as an inspiration, but with the help of a printing expert; we work together on it.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I enjoy mysteries in particular because I like trying to figure out who or what is happening, as long as it pulls me along.
I like reading biographies and great memoirs. Some have a lot of interesting information and philosophies to impart.
What do you read for pleasure?
A great fantasy or a romance novel
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
At this point Amazon Kindle and Creative Space and Smashwords and there a few libraries that have my book.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small community of Ontario. It was back at a time when things were much simpler and easier somehow. Fellowship was the most important part for me growing up. My life experiences have mainly influenced my writings.
When did you first start writing?
I have been writing basically since the nineties, but has been much more in the last five to six years.
What's the story behind your latest book?
A fantasy for YA genre involving a mysterious hidden village in one of Ireland's mountainous regions. The main character comes upon it on his travels through the mountain range and has some mysterious experiences with the people of the village.
