Interview with Jennifer Bryan Yarbrough

What are you working on next?
I am currently preparing Eden's Kiss, Book 4 in my series, to be released soon. I also have a few works in progress that I am writing as well.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love reading and finding new authors to read. I also enjoy spending time with my family and spoiling my new grandson.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Believe it or not the first story I ever wrote was Lost and Found. I had always wanted to write but I lacked the confidence to do it. After reading thousands of books I couldn't come up with a story to tell that I hadn't already read although I had a few stories running around in my head, The first chapter in Lost and Found was actually a real nightmare that I had and it felt so real that I couldn't get it out of my mind for months so I put it down on paper and I've been in love with writing ever since!
What is your writing process?
That's a really good question, haha. My writing process consists mainly of sleepless nights while I work the story out in my head. I wrote my first two books from my iPhone because my laptop had crashed but now I wait until it's quiet in the house and everyone is asleep and pour my heart out with each key stroke from my laptop. Because of this process I am quite nocturnal and I usually head to bed when everyone is waking up, lol.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
My grandmother bought me the complete set of Laura Ingalls Wilder "Little House on the Prairie" books when I was around 9 years old. That was when I learned how to block out the world and fall in love with the characters and it was even a little bit cooler knowing that they were real people that she was writing about.
What do you read for pleasure?
For pleasure when I have time to read I read a lot of JR Ward, P.C. Cast, Stephen King, Nora Roberts, S.C. Stephens, Lara Adrian, Sylvia Day, Lauren Kate, Sylvain Reynard, EL James, J.K. Rowling, Rick Riordan, Dean Koontz and many many others. I read a lot of different genres. Since I began writing myself I barely have time to write much less read but when I do it's usually someone in the list above or someone that a friend tells me about that's new.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Right now would have to be my iPhone but I tend to pull out the Kindle on occasion.
Describe your desk
I love writing from my bed with the TV turned down low in the background, :-)
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Oklahoma and I am still here!! I would say life experiences has helped influence my writing more than where I was raised.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Found at Last gives us Mattie and Josie's back story and lets everyone know that life is not always a bed of roses.
