Interview with Jerome Brooke

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I am a dreamer. I imagine that we exist in a multiverse, and that the Bard sings of worlds and times that exist in another realm, other than our own. Indeed, the creative act of the poet may bring this realm into being.
What do your fans mean to you?
Readers of my works join with me in a communion with other realities. They could well become part of a new cosmos and world, newly created.
What are you working on next?
I have a new series of books of books of pure erotica, written as Kitti Katzz.
Who are your favorite authors?
I began to write poetry years ago. Poems like the Iliad and Beowulf became part of my life in a special way.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I have a young child that is very important to me in my old age.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I wait each day for the school bus to greet my little girl. I am the consort of Jira, a princess of the lost Kingdom of Nan. She makes my life interesting.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I read the classics, like The Gallic Wars.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
My first story was The City of the Mirage (Books to Go Now)
What is your writing process?
I publish revised editions of my books as time permits.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I recall as a child reading the Wizard of Oz. In a way, I was to follow the Yellow Brick Road.
How do you approach cover design?
I believe sexy covers are the better way to go.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Classics like the Illiad, Beowulf, the Gallic Wars, the Bible and Hamlet are important.
What do you read for pleasure?
F&SF, history.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My laptop.

I live in the Kingdom of Siam. My oak desk was made in a small workshop in the Highlands near Nan.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
North Carolina. I have always been fascinated by Black women.
When did you first start writing?
20 years ago.

I have decided to see if I can find readers for pure erotica.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
My books are controverial.
