Interview with JK Becroft

What motivated you to become an indie author?
To be perfectly honest i was in a very dark place in my life and need someway to escape. therefore i immersed myself in others novels for a longtime preferring the fantasy life they had me living when my best friend encouraged me to write my own.
What do your fans mean to you?
everything, without them i wouldn't have even tried to publish a book ever.
What are you working on next?
The next addition to New Beginnings wouldn't dream of leaving it like it is.
Who are your favorite authors?
I could go on forever, funnily enough growing up I struggled to read, it wasn't until early adulthood that i was encouraged to read Breaking dawn to find out what was to happen next that i picked up a book. Lets just say that it became a addiction, Reading Richelle Mead, Alyson Noel, Colleen Hoover, R.L Mathewson, Molly McAdams, Abbi Glines, Bella Andre and H.M Ward just to name a few.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
When I am reading a new book or writing my own it is usually the thought of getting back into that world that drives me out of bed.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
If I'm not fighting fires as a volunteer, i am playing with my three children who are growing up way to fast.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
https://www.facebook.com/AtriaIndieAuthors?ref=profile and also amazon recommendations.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes it was a piece that was for a year 9 English project. it was not well received by family members and stopped me from writing for quite some time
What is your writing process?
usually just to let my brain flood. let it just flow out and run with it. I usually then build it up.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
not the first story however it may be said to say that i became a very avid Edward Collen fan, to the point that i think i have read that series until i knew it verbatim
How do you approach cover design?
Well some things in New Beginnings are actual places just exaggerated and the cover is taken from this actual place.
