Interview with Jennifer Minton

What's the story behind your latest book?
I have always loved werewolf stories and love stories. When I would read books by other authors I would always think "hey it would have been cuter or better if such and such happened" so I decided to write my own story and see how it turned out.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I have always loved writing stories but never really took it anywhere. Then I became a stay at home mom and had all this extra time during the day while my kids napped and after they went to bed. I didn't just want to sit and veg in front of the tv so I decided to get my computer out.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
They made it simple and quick to publish my book for free. They seem more interested in getting my book out there then making money off me.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Seeing the story develop on paper and not just in my head. Then having others actually like it as well.
What do your fans mean to you?
It's so weird to think that I actually have fans. They are so precious to me, hearing how much they loved my book is such a blessing to me.
What are you working on next?
Book 2 for the Violet Moon series and possibly a spin off series.
Who are your favorite authors?
Oh my, there are so many! Quin Loftis, Claire Farrel, Kira Saito, Chanda Hahn, P.C Cast and Kristen Cast, C. C. Hunter and many many more!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My children!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Homeschooling my boys and spending time with my family.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I always check to see if my favorite authors have added anything new. Then I actually check out the free and low priced books. That is actually where I have found some of my favorite books!
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I'm sure I wrote some before this but the first time something I wrote was really acknowledged was my freshman year of high school when we had to write an ending to the short story "The Lady or the Tiger". My mom read it and looked at me and asked "where did you get this?" Thinking I got it off the Internet or something even though she was sitting right next to me when I wrote it.
