When did you first start writing?
At the age of 70
What's the story behind your latest book?
An adventure based on the life of the Maori Warrior Te Kooti who was falsely imprisoned, escaped, and extracted bloody retribution against British soldiers, settlers, and Maori alike. Many were those who wronged him, many were innocent men women and children.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Hugely. While I thought my previous books were formatted correctly, It was never done correctly until I found Smashwords. Clearly the site I previously published with lacked the same professionalism.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Creating something from nothing
What do your fans mean to you?
I don't know that I have any.
Who are your favorite authors?
Ken Follett, Richard North Patterson, Douglas Reeman.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My Alarm clock
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Trout fishing.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
By browsing my e reader
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. I read that first novels were very much auto biographical so I wrote one. Got that out of the way.
What is your writing process?
To try to make my stories as easy to read and as entertaining as possible. I would rather keep them shorter than fill them full of banal dialogue just to increase the word count.
