Interview with John Dunn

What are you working on next?
My first book in the "For Regular People" series is titled Reading and Understanding Canadian Legislation which I hope will assist high school, college, and university students, advocates and self representing litigants who find themselves caught up in the legal system to better navigate and understand the legal tools in place to guide and regulate them. The second book in the series will be titled "How To Use Canadian Legislation for Advocacy"
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Ontario, Canada's foster care system being moved from foster home to foster home until I turned 18 years old, 13 moves in total. This is why I wrote "Life in Foster Care is like a Subway Ride" and is also why I write books which tend to help people who see themselves as being abused by various systems etc.
When did you first start writing?
I have always written since my twenties, but never a book of any kind. People always told me I should write a book about my life in foster care and after so I did a radio documentary finally when I was 32 in 2002. I later turned that script into my first short story / e-book titled "Life in Foster Care is like a Subway Ride" which I published in 2014 on Smashwords.com
