Interview with Josanne Leid

Published 2014-04-15.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing around age eleven. I'd always loved reading but then my first story came to me while I was minding my own business daydreaming and I couldn't sleep for wanting to put it all on paper.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Myths and Maxims is about the creative ancient advice of the Caribbean used and practiced today, as well as some of the phrases we repeat to remember these wise teachings.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Flexibility with publishing. I can upload an e-book whenever I want to.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I feel so happy when my knowledge can be passed down and hopefully contribute to the education of someone else.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The sun. It's so bright and beautiful in the Caribbean that you literally cannot sleep in, the rays of sun shine right in your eyes.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Trying out a new recipe on my husband. The poor darling is so sweet, even when I know it tastes awful he still eats it all without complaint.
What do you read for pleasure?
Historical Romance Novels. I love history and I love romance so I can't resist.
Describe your desk
I don't have a stationary desk. I often type in bed or at the dining room table. No matter where I end up though,it's got to be neat before I start or I get distracted.
