Interview with A. K. Dailey

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I come up with other ideas for new books every day. If I finished a book I will go out and get fresh air and spend it with my family to relax myself and free my mind from it.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I search a specific genre of what exactly I want to read. When I find it I buy the book and along the way some have inspired me with some ideas for books and others are good to just read and enjoy.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, I wrote an Urban African American story when I was in the 9th grade. Nothing but child's play really but it was fun to do and I had fun creating my own world if I wanted to get out of the boredom of a certain class.
What do you read for pleasure?
I mostly read romance books for pleasure. I love the feelings it give me from the passion and emotions it shows on the pages. It makes you desire the same the characters have in your life as well some times.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My IPhone or IPad.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing when I was in the 8th grade. I knew some one that was writing stories of her own and it inspired me to want to try and do it. I have always wanted to write stories for the fun of it. I enjoy the experience it brings and you really get involved in the lives of the characters and you get attached to the books more as you self publish your books over it being traditionally published.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It is a paranormal romance book that revolves around the main characters Nola Williams and Tony Perkins. Nola is a white wolf and has become a loner at the age of eighteen. Her pack was killed during a heat wave and some of the remaining ones that escaped, tried to save the few they knew were alive. Someone saved Nola and from there she was taken in a real red wolf pack at the age of fifteen. When she turned eighteen she left on her journey and a year later finds out that the red wolves were killed by being hunted by hunters.

Now at the age of twenty four Nola has worked hard and has never joined another pack since. She has truly become a loner and distance herself from anyone but a select few. Then one day her boss and friend Wilbur Cantrell feels works too hard and puts her on a vacation to a town called "Saye." There she meets a man who just so happens to be her lifetime mate Tony Perkins who is rude, arrogant and pompous to everyone.

Over the course of meeting Tony, Nola has to find a way to save herself and the people she soon starts to care about during the two week vacation from a man and woman who have been hunting her down because of the fact that she is a pure blooded wolf of royalty. Only Tony and his pack can save her and she doesn't know what to do when she suddenly finds out that not all of her pack have died and that her mother somehow also survived.

When her mother comes she will have to choose to stay with her mate and love Tony or leave with her pack and family.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
The feeling of finally putting my words out there for all to see and enjoy.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The idea of creating a world of my own and living through with the characters that I create.
Describe your desk?
It is crowded with ideas and papers of what I want my story to go from. It is completely taken over by papers and from outlines to plot line ideas and character development papers.
