Interview with Barb Pierce

Published 2014-03-01.
Describe your desk
My desk is always messy. As a result, I have purchased a screen to cover the mess when I meet with clients.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Change begins one conversation at a time.

Having benefitted tremendously from coaching, I wanted to share a simple process that anyone can use to engage in challenging conversations. This process can be used by parents, teachers, managers and therapists--basically anyone who interacts with other humans.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I love to write. I love to teach. I tried to write the book as though I was facilitating a Become a Coach Leader program.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I am not writing, I am coaching clients. When I am not working, I meditate, practice yoga, run, do martial arts, mountain bike and walk my dogs.
What is your writing process?
Right now I have a strong idea regarding my next project. I am letting it ruminate and noticing what is being presented to me in my life. I am noticing where my energy is flowing and what catches my attention.
