Interview with Kelly Mazur

What's the story behind your latest book?
I've always loved luxury vacations. You'll never catch me at a hostel… 5-star hotels only! Unfortunately, as I pay off my student debt I can't afford multiple luxury vacations a year if I'm paying full price. Using these tips I've learned over the past few years I've been able to afford 3-4 luxury vacations per year!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Getting feedback from my readers is the most rewarding part of writing. Especially when my advice has helped someone go on a trip they never thought they could have afforded!
How do you approach cover design?
I closed my eyes and pictured what luxury travel meant to me. A bright blue ocean and no one else around came to mind.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing after I began travelling frequently, three years ago. I suddenly had a lot of stories to tell, and a lot of advice to give when it comes to travel!
What are you working on next?
My next book will be a guide to packing for vacation. As someone who's been in a long distance relationship for the past three years I have a lot of experience packing every weekend! I've perfected a process that gets me packed for any trip within an hour, and I think readers would love to learn how I do it!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Travelling! So that I have something to write about...
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I just search "travel" or 'travel tips" because I love to learn other people's tricks when it comes to travel.
What is your writing process?
I start with the table of contents so I have an outline for the rest of the book. Some days I'm full of creative energy and I can write for hours… and other days I can't write for the life of me. Stepping away from my book for a few days always helps me refresh.
What are your three favorite books, and why?
Lunch in Paris by Elizabeth Band - because it's so sweet to read about someone falling in love with both Paris, and a man.

Wanderlust by Elisabeth Eaves - because she encouraged me to take the leap into full time travel

Paris Times Eight by Deirdre Kelly - because Deirdre made me fall in love with Paris all over again with her fantastic description of this magical city
What do you read for pleasure?
Books about travel, usually written by female authors. I love stories about solo travellers as well. I don't have the courage for that, but I love reading about it!
What is your e-reading device of choice?
iPad for sure!
