Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I ever wrote was in middle school as an assignment because Halloween was coming up. It was a horror short called "Mommy Dearest" and was about a group of teens that discover an abandoned how. Little do they know that the home is that of the main character whose mother had abused her as a child. Well, I'll just say Mommy is still there.
What is your writing process?
I can honestly say I do not have a writing process as some would think. I am what us indie authors call a "seat of pants" writer meaning that I do not outline and I do not plan things out. The words and events just flow out of me and I wouldn't have it any other way.
How do you approach cover design?
How do I approach cover design? I've only designed a couple and they weren't mine. For my own works I go to trusted friend and author Lisa Vasquez of Darque Halo Designs with all of my covers. She is also signed with BWP to do the covers for our releases.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read quite a lot but I have a tendency to stick to thrillers, fantasy (whether urban, dark, or contemporary), horror, sci-fi, and Dystopian fiction.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I can't say I care much for e-readers, but I do have the Kindle app with tons of books on it I haven't been able to sit down and read yet as well as a Nook.
When did you first start writing?
You know that short story I mentioned earlier? It was the first thing I had ever written. I didn't write again till I was 15 and haven't been able to stop since.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The latest book that I am working on is the final chapter of the Executioner Trilogy and, well, I don't want to give anything away just yet.
What are you working on next?
I have quite a lot of things in the works including some novels and a few short stories. I was just accepted into the "Twisted Tales Tea Party" anthology for my work "Into Oblivion" and I am working with Lisa Vasquez to put out a Dystopian fiction anthology centered around New Years Day. Also, I have a couple new series in the works as well two stand alone horror/sci-fi novels.
