Interview with Blake Seeger

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Funny thing about that. I'm still working on it. It's a Legend of Zelda fan fiction that takes place between Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess.I got the idea when I noticed a hole missing in the timeline and when I noticed that Phantom Ganon wasn't destroyed. He was only Banished to a gap between dimensions.
What is your writing process?
I try to shoot for at least a page minimum each day. If I can't think of something, I'll take a few days off from writing to give my brain a little break. While writing I tend to check for errors after I complete a paragraph. If I notice I accidentally skipped checking I wait until I complete the chapter.
How do you approach cover design?
I look at what my story is about and then try to find an image I can use that relates to it. As for title font, I just experiment until I see something that fits. I use an app on my tablet called Photo Editor to make them. To me it's easier than making it on my computer.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I love the Kindle but I sometimes read on my Kindle Fire HDX. It depends on what I feel like using.
Describe your desk
I don't have a desk. I just have my laptop sitting on my side table next to my bed.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Baltimore County but it didn't influence my writing at all. Video games were my first inspiration to write and once I started writing I loved it. "A Wolf's Tale' though is a piece I thought up in my dreams. I have no real idea how it happened.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I had originally started with writing fan fiction and as I wrote more I began to get more and different ideas. I started with one of my non fan fiction related ideas and people started to like it as I posted it on wattpad. As writing it I began to think of more I could do with it and now it has turned into a series.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy is creating a character and watching them grow.
What do your fans mean to you?
They are a great inspiration. They let me know what they like, what they don't like and what I can do to improve.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I am either chatting with friends or on a social site called Tsu.
