Interview with K. Rebellow

Who are your favorite authors?
I tend to gravitate toward the self improvement genre, so authors such as Jack Canfield, and Napoleon Hill are among my favorites. I recently read a children's book by Christopher R. Kaden that I really loved.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I love to get lost just searching for ebooks in Smashwords, or other vendors, and looking at the recommended, or also boughts. It goes on forever, but I try to limit myself(quite unsuccessfully) to just ten searches in one given moment.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
While I do like Kindle, I prefer e-reading on my iPad Mini.
What do you read for pleasure?
I enjoy self improvement books, autobiographies, memoirs, books on cars, and more recently, books on African American history.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing, in particular my current book, is having readers respond and take action to improve their relationships/connections. If this book improved just one person's relationship as a result, I am happy, I'm satisfied, I'm fulfilled.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I honestly enjoy writing, and creating. I feel strongly that my life's purpose is to provide products and services that enhance people's lives. I'm hoping that my current work, Modern Sex: What Guys Really Want, Why You Should Know, will do just that.
What inspired you to write about this particular topic, which, is a bit, shall we say, explicit?
Quite simply, I wrote about this explicit subject to get people talking with each other; to inspire dialogue between those who really want to improve their relationships. Lets face it, sex is an important part of any intimate relationship, so why aren't more people talking about it? If someone feels improvement could be made in this area of their relationship, but don't really know how to express themselves, I'm hoping this book will motivate them to open up. While this book is written from a male perspective, females can also ask the same of their male counterparts. My goal for readers is a healthy, RECIPROCAL intimate relationship.
What is your writing process?
Something has to move me, inspire me. Or if I simply feel that some timely topic should be addressed, I go for it. I just write all of my ideas down as they come; I edit and tweak after I've gotten all I have to say written down. If I were to edit as I went along, I would never complete my work as it would completely interrupt my flow.
How did you approach cover design for your ebook?
For my cover, I had an idea of what I wanted: something very sexy without being pornographic. I sorted through hundreds of licensed photos before finally deciding on the cover you currently see. Of course, I had to pay to use the photo, and I'm glad I was able to use it. I think it turned out very well, don't you?
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
This is my first book, and I've read TONS of material on marketing, so I'm sorting through all of this to finalize an actual marketing plan. It will be as aggressive as my budget allows, lol.
What are you working on next?
Depending on the response to this work, I would like to publish this book in several languages, and also produce an audiobook version as well.
