Interview with Lanna Farrell

Published 2015-01-11.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My greatest joy of writing is sitting down with a pen and paper and burying myself away from the world and all the stress and chaos and bury myself into my stories. I absolutely love my story and the world I'm creating for my characters. It is relaxing and stress free. Even drama in the story I know I can change their lives with just a flick of the pen and ink.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean the world to me. They are people who are committed to me and my stories. Without fans I have no reason to continue to write my stories. I hope and pray every day they enjoy my stories as much as I do when I'm writing them.
What are you working on next?
I am working on two different stories. One is Rebound a paranormal both my hero and heroine are shifters. Their worlds collide when a young girl is attacked. Teig, tiger male shifter, suffers from PTSD and is an alcoholic. When his best friend and team mate comes to him for help he meets Eve, a shifter, who doesn't know yet she is from their species. Eve is a beat cop there to protect the young woman who has been attacked. Their worlds collide as they race against time and a killer to protect someone else. This book will be released by spring of 2014.

Also, I am working on Aubrea's story. Sister to Nancy from Short Fuse to Happiness. Eighteen Wheels to Heaven. I am done with the story and working on Edits with my editor. This book will be released in early 2014.
Who are your favorite authors?
Some of my favorite authors are Aliyah Burke, Christine Feehan, Yvette Hines, Iris Johansen, Nora Hess, Shelly Laurenston and Stephine Meyer.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Every day at 12:35 am I get up to start my day. I drive commercially for a contractor. I like my job as a truck driver of a straight truck. Then after an eight hour shift I come home to enjoy some quiet time writing. I have two beautiful daughters and a grand-son. Each and every day is filled with love and happiness for my family.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I like to read a great book, hike, run, biking, motorcycles, snow mobiles as well as driving fast cars. My favorite time is when I'm able to get away out of the big city and travel to Northern Minnesota to a small town Grand Marais which is the entry way to the Boundary Waters.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I am frequently on facebook where many indie authors and published authors advertise their books. I also search through amazon and smashwords for new authors. If it sounds like a good book or someone tells me to read it I usually buy it. My kindle is full of many great books.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes I do. My first story I wrote is still in progress. It is a story of two people who meet and start a romance, as they search for missing kids in the boundary area in Northern Minnesota. Michael is an FBI agent and Ashley is a canine handler for a Search and Rescue team.
What is your writing process?
I will write most of my story in a notebook. I don't outline I just start writing. When I have a free moment in my day I will sit at my computer and transpose my writing from the notebook.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I don't really remember the first book I ever read. I started reading when I was in elementary. I remember reading the Swan. That book stayed with me for many years. I can still remember most of the story. It actually scared me because it was about the world ending.
How do you approach cover design?
My covers are designed by a professional cover artist. I want my cover to sing my story. When someone looks at my cover I want them to first say. Wow! I can't wait to read this story!
What do you read for pleasure?
I absolutely love paranormal, fantasy and a good suspenseful romance.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My Ipad Air 2 is first, Kindle second, and android tablet and phone
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?

Describe your desk
I have a large office desk. I prefer to sit on my chair with my laptop on my lap.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the City of St. Paul. It influenced my writing because living in the city I wasn't able to do a lot so my best friend was my books.
When did you first start writing?

What's the story behind your latest book?
