Interview with LaRue Agresti

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Knowing that if I am truly honest, I might connect with my reader in a way that enhances their life. By concentrating on the readers experience and ability to relate I am less fearful and more joyous in the writing process.
What do your fans mean to you?
We are all just travelers trying to navigate this life and if I touched someone with my writing in a positive way, then I would hope they could pass that along. I feel all humans are connected to the same energy source and my readers are just a little more connected to me and hopefully, we can enrich each other's energy.
What are you working on next?
The second book with more of the unique stories and characters.
Who are your favorite authors?

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I believe everyday is its own little universe so I am always joyful to be starting fresh everyday. Coffee helps!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love to entertain and I am usiually planning an occassion. Any excuse for a party! I collect Art Deco and love antiquing and resale shopping. I spends summers enjoying my home and garden on land and winters on my sailboat in the Caribbean.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
It was a play when I was 11 years old, that I tried to produce with the kids on my block. Not too successfully I might add since it was like trying to herd cats!
What is your writing process?
I tend to write in large bursts rather than a little each day. I am always writing down notes which later get divided into the chapters they belong in. Somehow many scraps of paper turn into a book.

Heidi which probably is responsible for my love of goat cheese. Also The Secret Garden which was quite magical for a liitle girl.
