Interview with Garry G. Laser

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born in Germany and emigrated to Canada as a young child in 1954. Lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in a christian home and in the church which my uncle pastored for many years. Foundational truths became a part of my early childhood upbringing. Spiritual growth began when I asked Jesus to come into my life while I was in my early teens. I am sure that led me to understand that my will must be His will and eventually, later in life I received the interest and the ability to write down what I was hearing God teach me. Before I began writing, many years had passed in which God taught me lessons I had no interest in learning. The question I was lead to find an answer to was this, "How did 'I' become such a "despicable old me" and that question involved getting to know the process of becoming a living soul. Hence, the reference I use in seeking to find answers which are in truth. From this was born a series of writing which I call "A PinPoint Soul-Logical Understanding" on how we are all able to receive free "Help for the Self in Our Soul."
When did you first start writing?
I've been writing since 2007 but the very first work was written by hand and I soon realized that there was a better way. At age sixty it was a steep learning curve to go with Word processing.
What's the story behind your latest book?
All of my writings have been in the genre of christian psychology, christian life and spiritual growth and my interest is always in discovering what God has to say in the Scriptures as it relates to the human being becoming a living soul.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
It was at a Christmas party where I received my first e-reading device - a KOBO. Some of my first downloads were free articles which were produced from Smashword distribution to KOBO. I realized that I too could publish my works in this new emerging ebook industry.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Every morning I get up shortly after midnight and in the quiet of the night I am able to hear God most clearly and am able to write with a refreshed mind and a renewed soul and spirit.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I can hardly wait to spend time with God. Morning is the most precious time for spiritual availability and quiet solitude in which I notice God gifting me with 'deep digs' in the Scriptures.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I am currently still employed. I work in a cold meat processing plant as a general laborer. My wife and I are able to enjoy our four grown children, our grandchildren and our church family.

I believe that all depression, anxiety and loneliness is derived from the spiritual source of negativity. The source that promotes negativity is set up to destroy our trust and faith in that which is our faithful supply of sufficiency. Negativity removes hope. Where real help is available, negativity removes the path or makes them crooked so that help is sought by us in all the wrong places.

No soul can be properly studied without considering all three life functioning capacities. Because scientific psychological research has rejected one of these capacities, which does not require "rational " thought, there is now a scrambling in the search for the missing link - that which is spiritual and involves conscience and intuition.
