Interview with Laura Lawrence

Published 2015-01-12.
What are you working on next?
I'm currently working on editing my new book due out in February, as well as working on a multitude of short stories
Who are your favorite authors?
I absolutely love Paige Toon, I think her books are absolutely brilliant. I really enjoy the twists and turns in each book. I do love a lot of "Chick Lit" authors though, it's so hard to narrow it down
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My writing. I have stories to tell, and can't tell them if I'm in bed all day!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I have a 'regular' job alongside my writing job, I like to craft, but most of all I love spending time with my husband and my little boy.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Browsing sites like this, Amazon and through recommendations!
How do you approach cover design?
I have a rough idea in my head, and I then consult with my cover designer who works his magic to bring my vision to life.
Describe your desk
Messy!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Being able to share my stories with others and bring my characters to life!
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything! I wouldn't be able to do what I do without my amazing fans. They're the backbone of it all, I'm so thankful.
What is your writing process?
I tend to write on paper, in metallic pens usually which drives my editor insane, and then it gets typed up and edited. I start with a plan, and character bios and go from there. The finished story is usually a lot different to the initial plan, as my creative process evolves throughout the writing.
