Interview with Leon Benjamin

What is your writing process?
If I get an idea, thought, or blurb, I simply write it down and sort it out later. In my early days of writing, I found that I tried to write and organize at the same time, which proved to be very ineffective and I ended up losing much of my thoughts in the process.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I can remember the first book I read, and it was fascinating. It was a book called "The Pearl", given to us by a teacher in grade school. As a child, stories are always interesting, they captivate the attention and imagination, and I was no different. Reading the story for myself made my imagination run wild. I could see the story unfolding through the words in my mind. I felt a sense of adventure without moving from where I was sitting. I'm actually gonna order this book right now :-)
How do you approach cover design?
I believe cover design should be left to design professionals.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill
Breaking The Habit Of Being Yourself - Dr. Joe Dispenza
The Richest Man In Babylon - George Samuel Clason
10 Keys To Personal Power - Brian Tracey Video (I know its not a book)
Eat That Frog - Brian Tracy

Think and Grow Rich, in my opinion, should be a fundamental book and course study for all grade school students as well as high school students. This book gives much proven information that will be valid in everyday commercial society for generations to come.

Breaking The Habit Of Being Yourself - This book is simply amazing from start to finish. Before I moved from New York, I did frequent meditation. I came across a technique I called "Emotional Power Projection". I wondered if others used this technique to "attract" favorable situations in their lives. A little over 2 years later, a friend bought me a copy of this book and lo and behold, Dr. Dispenza breaks down the same thing on a microscopic level and gives those unfamiliar with unseen forces, habits and disadvantages to pick themselves up and fly.

The Richest Man in Babylon - I read this book 2x already and will read it every single year at least once. I feel this is a treasure by itself. If you're a young adult, or even an older person who is working for a living, this book is essential to financial freedom, as is Think and Grow Rich. I can't begin to tell you how amazing this book and its lessons are. Go Buy It!

Eat That Frog - Brian Tracy is a name know to Millions across the world. He is a cornerstone by himself and teaches the techniques to mastering one's craft, and getting to the top of any social pyramid. Highly recommended work.

10 Keys to Personal Power - This video is phenomenal. I feel he poured out all his techniques, teachings, fundamentals and even advanced theories in this video that are later covered in small portions in other books. I feel this is the most complete video I've ever watched on financial and social elevation. You can find this on youtube.
What do you read for pleasure?
Internet news, blogs and Books that challenge my thinking.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
iPad or iPhone
What's the story behind your latest book?
As a young man in my early 20's, I didn't find anything more difficult that school. Everything else I felt as though I could accomplish, and I did. However, I had no real social life until around age 25. I simply decided to change the way I look, the way I speak to people, and my attitude to my fear of rejection. I've always had a girlfriend, simply because in school you are bound to meet people, but I've never went "hunting" outside of my comfort zone.

A friend of mine, I'll call her "Keri", is my catalyst to this transformation. I told her I wanted to change my look, and that very day, she took me to a store and put me in clothes she think I would best fit in. Naturally, I was a bit uncomfortable with the change, but I suppressed the fear and embraced the change. Since then, I haven't been the same. I went to a club for the first time, I went on dates with women I would only look at and lust at just 6 months before. I am a quick learner, so I learned from my mistakes and kept improving just about every week.

After making this leap, I began thinking about others who might have the same issues I just overcome. A while later, I went to a club with a girlfriend of mine at the time, and her female friends, so I'm the only guy with a flock of about 6 beautiful women. As I went to the bar, I got comments from other guys like "you're so lucky dude" and "I wish I was in your shoes". And no matter what my response would be, these guys would never get it. They only see results, not the work and dedication I put in. Then I realize they're so caught up in chasing sex, they can think about nothing else. I would also hear many women complain about the lack of good men or choices of quality men. I know these guys are still out there, they're just on the wrong path. Whether they're shy, rude, secluded, overcome by fear, or whatever it may be, they're no where in sight for good women.

As a philanthropist, I feel comfortable only when I'm assisting human evolution to become better. So this book is for the males out there who are looking for a way to truly transform the outer self to look like the quality dwelling inside, a Gentleman. This book is for those who are looking for at least a long term relationship at minimum, and up to Marriage, if one so chooses.

As you can see from the feedback, the book does just that!
