Published 2016-04-23.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My son, my husband and all of the other wonderful people and things in my life. We go on a lot of adventures, so that helps.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
With family.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I like to try new things, but I typically gain interest just by looking at a nice cover.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. I was five or six and it was called "The Light House." It was a "Goonies" inspired story.
What is your writing process?
Get all the ideas down before you lose them. I write them in my phone, I record myself, make notes on the computer, and then I go back and figure out how I will make a good story out of it.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Something from Goosebumps.
How do you approach cover design?
I find the real meaning of the story and find a picture that conveys that. Then I try to make it as artistic as possible to convey the message.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
"The Giver" - because it's a really great sci-fi story.
"Misery" - I just love anything Stephen King. I would list all of his books here.
"The Hunger Games" - I love all three books. I love the story world and the protagonist.
"Harry Potter" - All books! My favorite story world ever!
"Divergent" - Another story world I love. I identify as divergent so I understand the protagonist's struggle.
