Interview with Anthony Navarro

Published 2014-04-17.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I am in the field, working with clients planning their weddings, running to food tastings, floral meetings, cake tastings, answering e-mails, working with my team to create memorable and incredible experiences for our clients!
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
From my friends, family and clients. I also pay attention to what other folks recommend them through various social media networks.
How do you approach cover design?
The cover we wound up with was actually by mistake. I originally wanted to do something more cartoonish and when the editor and cover designer were putting options together, the cover that you see now was the first idea that they had come up with. As soon as I saw it, it spoke to me and really showed that this book was all business and moved forward with the design.
Describe your desk
I try to keep me desk as clean as can be. I have always felt that by having a clean desk, you have a clear mind and can be most productive.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a suburb of Chicago. I can remember as a child, always intrigued by writing, but was not always my first form of expression. It was not until I was in college, living in Chicago proper, that I realized how my writing could be a form of expression and education. If it were not for one of my professors, I may have not had the courage to challenge myself to begin writing.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The reason why I decided to write this book now is that it seems that there are so many people wanting to be wedding planners. I hope that this can be used as a guide book to get them started, to avoid some rookie mistakes, and for my colleagues, to prepare the next generation of wedding planners.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Knowing that my knowledge will help create success for another person in their career.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything! Without fans and followers, I know that I could not keep moving forward! I am grateful for all who already purchased a copy of The Business of Being A Wedding Planner! I am just full of gratitude for their love and support!
What are you working on next?
I am planning on taking the same concept of this book, but revising it to make it more as a guide book for couples planning their wedding!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Knowing that I get to do what I love to do each and every day!
