Interview with Lorraine Reguly

Published 2017-07-03.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend a lot of time with my parents (they are elderly and won't be around forever!). We play cards for money, to make it more fun. ;)
I also like watching TV sitcoms and dramas. My favorite shows are The Big Bang Theory and Law & Order SVU.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I have done a lot of networking online and have met many interesting authors. I generally receive books in exchange for reviews. :) However, because I am also a freelance editor, I get paid to edit most of the e-books I read!
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
No! LOL
I've written so many that I can't recall. I DO, however, remember my first poem.
It's called "In One's Eyes" and is published on Wording Well as a blog post.
I know it by heart, and often recite for new friends. :)
What is your writing process?
I write and edit at the same time. Then I re-write and then I edit separately, until perfection is achieved!
How do you approach cover design?
I hire a designer and we work together until I am satisfied.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Wow. I don't have too many favorite books, but I have 3 favorite authors!
Lisa Jackson, Lisa Gardner, and James Patterson are my faves!
What do you read for pleasure?
I love murder mysteries. I'm not sure why. I think it's because I've always wanted to secretly be a detective.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My sister gave me a Kobo reader. I like it but I still prefer a print book!
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Dog-ear the corner of a page! (Tsk, tsk, I know.)
