Interview with Lynelle Clark

Published 2018-04-03.
What are you working on next?
I am busy with Book 2, a follow up on Blood Mines. After the feedback I have received I realised I need to continue with the story and answer some of the questions raised.
I am also in the final draft of War mistress, a 3 part series that will be released in this year.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have a few: Konsalik, Deon Meyer, Ena Murray, and Stieg Larson.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I like to be productive and do have a full time job as well.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I like to read, updating my blogs and visiting with family and friends. Otherwise I like the open road and sight-seeing.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Mostly by recommendations
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
A Pirate's Wife was my first.
What is your writing process?
I like to write in a quiet place with no interruptions. No music, a bottle of water sitting in a room with no movements. Distractions stops the flow.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I can't remember the name but it was a historical book about Hiroshima. It had a great impact on me and from there it took me to different books where I discovered Konsalik at my local library.
How do you approach cover design?
Normally I ask some one that is gifted in this to read the book and come up with a few designs. The one that speaks the most to me is the book cover. This can be a long process or a very quick one.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Can't say I have five favorites that would imply I have read them more than once which I don't do. All books are my favorites.
What do you read for pleasure?
Anything and everything. From thrillers to a paranormal story will have my attention as long as it has a good story, it is believable and I can relate with the character.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Smashwords Interviews are created by the profiled author or publisher.
