Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I wrote a horrible story called MASH. It was about vampires who lived underground and the teens who hunted them.
What is your writing process?
I like to create my character bible first and then the chapters layout.

The Boxcar Kids
How do you approach cover design?
It's my least favorite part about writing. I'm too traumatized to discuss the process.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Mines.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love to read books that I would never choose myself. That's why I enjoying doing book reviews for authors.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My laptop.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
It's a big plus when writing a series to be able to give away the first copy for free.
Describe your desk
It's my couch.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
South Carolina in one of the most diverse cities. A lot of my stories take place in places inspired by my hometown and near the sea.
When did you first start writing?
At the age of eighteen.
