Interview with Magus Tor

What are you working on next?
I am working on a few books at the same time.
1. LIFE the greatest MMORPG (Tentative title)
What if LIFE is all but a game? This book will be the beginner's guidebook to LIFE as if it is a game, not just any game but a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Only Role Playing Game) like World of Warcraft and Knights of the Old Republic. How will it turn out I wonder?
2. Life Bank
If you can sell your life for money, why work. Just sell your life and get the cash immediately. But remember this, it is an account that allows withdrawal only.
3. Princess Magistrate
This will be a simple comedy about a Princess who underwent the Imperial exam and got herself a post as a Magistrate. Follow her as she discover a conspiracy bigger than what she can handle as a Magistrate.
Who are your favorite authors?
Raymond E Feist - the very first fantasy novel I read and got hooked to.
David Eddings
Joseph Prince
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I write for fun, so most of the time I won't be writing. My main job is a medical doctor, hobbies include reading, playing games and sleeping.
How do you approach cover design?
I had zero sense in anything arts so I get someone else to do it.
What do you read for pleasure?
Mainly fictions especially fantasy and Scifi. Occasionally will read some self-help book.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
On my laptop and my iPad.
When did you first start writing?
2007 when I decided to write something for fun.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I get to write whatever I feel like writing. No rules, full freedom of creation and fun.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
When someone read my books and enjoyed it.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Personally I don't like reading ebooks. I still prefer hardcopies that I can hold in my hands.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
New Dawn, the very first book I wrote. Wrote it to prove to myself that I can do anything if I set my heart to do it. (You need to know that my command of English is quite bad and teacher had even commented childish on my composition) More about New Dawn, it was supposed to be the first book of a trilogy (book 2 titled High Noon, book 3 Full Moon) but till now I haven't got the urge to return to it. I hope I can go back to it end of 2014.
What is your writing process?
I need to have a story idea, usually it just pops into my head. Once I have the idea, I will sit down and write a broad storyboard (list down the chapters and rough idea of what should be in it) then I will start writing. I will make myself write 1 chapter a day till I finish the whole book. Sometimes, I will stop halfway and shelf it. Then years later I will return to it and redo from the start, hopefully by then I can finish it then.
