Interview with Mary Reason Theriot

What are you working on next?
Currently I am working on another thriller. A stalker has become obsessed with an "escort" and sees each of her clients as competition.
Who are your favorite authors?
I love to read period. However, my favorite authors are Patricia Cornwell, Lisa Jackson, James Patterson, John Sanford and Heather Graham.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My family is what keeps me going each and every day. Without their love and support I would have never even ventured into writing.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing about two years ago. In 2001 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. As the disease progressed I became more limited in what activities I could actually do. My daughter is the one who actually encouraged me to start writing. Now I consider writing to be a great therapy in my own personal fight against the disease.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
With writing I can let my creativity and imagination flow. There are no boundaries as to where the books can take you.
How do you approach cover design?
When I work on the covers to my books I take into consideration all aspects of the plot. My daughter has been a great help in the design process. I would be lost without her.
What do you read for pleasure?
My favorite genre is paranormal and the supernatural. There is just something so thrilling when I am reading a book about a haunted house.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
At first I was against eBook readers. However, now I would be completely lost without my Kindle. I like the fact that I can blow up the words to where I can see. My husband loves that I can read in bed without having to bother with a lamp on.
Describe your desk
My favorite place to write is sitting out in the living room on my recliner. This way I can still be a part of the family while I am busy typing away.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Currently when I am not writing my daughter and I are finding a new recipe that we would like to try. Cooking has always been one thing that I was never good at and I am ready to tackle this fear. You can find the recipes that were successes on my blog,
