Interview with Lynn Sable

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I was about seven when I wrote my first book. It was about a mouse who wanted to fly. In the end he realized that he was perfect just the way he was.
My mother saved it for years but it was tragically lost in a fire at our storage place. Although there were a lot of family photos and mementos in that storage unit, my mother said that she missed my book the most. Is that sweet, or what!
What is your writing process?
I wish I had a process. LOL! I usually start thinking about the ending and then write about how my characters got there.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first 'big book' I ever read was Charlotte's Web. I was in fourth grade. Until then I read mostly picture books and Dr. Seuss. I remember sneaking out to the garage to get a flashlight so that I could read it under my covers without my parents knowing. Reading has always calmed and excited me at the same time.
Years later I found out that my dad would slip into my room, turn off the flashlight and put my book away as I snored away.
Describe your desk
Oh now, that's a funny question! My desk is a long banquet table that sits in front of a window that faces our beautiful front yard. Frankly, I've had more desks than husbands (kidding) but kept running out of space. One day, after a huge family picnic I got the brilliant idea of using one of those tables for my desk. Voila!
Right now my laptop and a tall lamp are in front of me. Off to the right is my printer and a file rack with all kinds of totally non related junk falling out all over. (I really do need to get that organized). Maybe tomorrow...
To my left is my personal docking station for my coffee cup, Yankee candle, stapler, hand lotion, (Palmer's of course) and my cell phone.
Since I have no ability to recall what I had for lunch yesterday, sticky notes are everywhere reminding me of things that I need to do. One says, buy that white sports car that we saw at the dealership last week. Funny, because I don't remember writing that. On closer inspection I noticed that it was in my husband's handwriting. Really?
What's the story behind your latest book?
OH NO, YOU DIDN'T: A Mind Numbing Suspense Thriller full of Mystery, Shock, Panic and Relentless Fear.

Forced to spend the summer at his elderly aunt’s beachfront bed and breakfast, Skippy soon realizes that there is more to her and her house than meets the eye. Paranormal activity in the attic and an ancient family secret is about to be exposed.
Meanwhile, the discovery of a human corpse that washed up on shore sends Skippy and his two new friends on a quest to find the killers. Their curiosity leads them on a wild goose chase full of chilling twists and turns. An overnight stay in a mysterious cabin in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey reveals that the legend of the Jersey Devil is much more than a myth. The consequences of their snooping will blow your mind!
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I'm new to Smashwords so I'm waiting to be discovered...still waiting...I'm getting gray hair here guys!
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are the best! I love their ideas and comments. Many of them are my inspiration to keep writing when all I want to do is hang up my pen and quit!
What are you working on next?
Since 'Oh No, You Didn't' is a series, I'm working on the next one.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
What time? LOL! Actually, I have four amazing grand-kids and two fluffy grand-dogs that keep me grounded and very busy. I spend a lot of time gardening and always jump at the chance to go swimming or to the beach.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love paranormal romance books. There's just something about them that hooks me every time.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I absolutely love my Kindle Fire. I take it everywhere. It's so over used that I'm on my third cover!
