Interview with Melissa French

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I am not writing, I can typically be found hanging out with my family or playing with my dogs. I also love trying new restaurants so if a place is known for teally good food, chances are you will eventually find me there!
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
The ebooks that I have read and am reading I found by searching "romantic mystery" "female mystery " or "comedy mystery" since those are my favorites.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. It was about a girl newer to a neighborhood that had a hard time making friends. One night, close to halloween she meets a boy at the playground and he shows her his house. She invites him back to hers but when she unlocks the door to go, he vanished. She explains this to her mother who laughs explaining no one has loved in that place for years because a little boy died there.
What is your writing process?
I am someone who likes to nust sit down in front of my computer and write. During the day I will write down notes as they come to me of ideas to create, or things to go back and change!
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Barney Beagle. I have the edition still, it is quite old. It is a simple book abour a dog wanting to be adopted by the right boy. It goes through and explains over and over again as he sees others get adopted that they were not right for him until finally he gets adopted by a nice boy that the shop owner didn't even care did not have enough money to pay for him. I love it. We all look for our special partner throughout our lives and some of us are lucky enough to find them.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Camilla Chafer's entire series of Lexi Graves. I love everything about them.
