Interview with APBUASI

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love to get spontaneous emails from readers who've just read one of my fiction books. The books hit some people hard, and they start telling me I make Lee Child look like a school boy and other nonsense. I eat it up - why not? Ha! It's a blast to get those emails. I have a few dozen of those. I should print them and hang them on my wall for inspiration - they are great for that!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I like running up a local mountain trail. I'm training for a 50 kilometer ultra-marathon trail run.

I spend a couple hours with my daughter at the park every weekday.

I keep up on UFO / Alien disclosure. Really, not joking!
What are you working on next?
I have about six ideas for books. One non-fiction I'm 60,000+ words into but it will need another 40,000 or more to finish. That's not getting done anytime soon.

I have an idea about alien possibilities - explanations for why they are visiting. That's a fun book I'm not sure I'll start.

I have a fiction with my daughter as protagonist. Sixth sense sort of story. Eery and fun. I'm 10,000 words into that one.

I may write a short how-to book about keeping snakes out of the yard and house. I have the ThailandSnakes.com website and get asked that question often.

I'm considering revising my "The Ultimate Life!" book yet again. I love that book, and the slow sales are killing me. I want everyone to read it!

I have a serial killer book about half written that really needs finishing at some point.

I have a third book in the "Thailand's Sickest" series that really needs to be finished.
Describe your desk
An absolute wreck because I always have 29 things I'm working on. No more, no less.
Who are your favorite authors?
Cormac McCarthy I think it is - who wrote, The Road.
Joseph Conrad. Heart of Darkness is one of all-time favorites.
Thomas Harris. Hannibal was brilliant writing.
Lee Child I like a bit.
There's another author I like, but I won't pay $15 for his fiction books, so I forgot his name.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I use my Samsung Galaxy S4 usually. If I'm at the computer, I use Kindle on my MacBook Pro Retina. I wish I could use the iPad more, but our daughter usually has that.
