Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I remember a Zane Grey story about a wild stallion and was impressed with his descriptions of the prairie and mountains and how his stallion became alive.
How do you approach cover design?
Should give a feel for the story within the cover.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love stories of the old west and adventure.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I download ebooks to my Laptop.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up on the prairies of Montana. Working with the people that lived and worked this land, gave me a love for them and the life upon it.
When did you first start writing?
Not until later, after college, did I give writing a try.
What's the story behind your latest book?
This book is about the cowboy, his challenges on the a Montana ranch and falling in love with the rancher's daughter.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I heard an author give a wonderful talk about his success as an indie author.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
This is my first book with Smashwords.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
To see the final completion of your book and being happy that it may give others the same joy as they read it.
What do your fans mean to you?
I love to have fans as that means that your book is well received.
What are you working on next?
A story about a wolf.
Who are your favorite authors?
Zane Grey and Jack London.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Each day presents new challenges.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I like yard work and time with my wife.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I get a lot of them from Amazon.com and now will look at Smashwords

I think of a story, do some research, and then let the story develope.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I have no favorite books.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Word of mouth and getting a review in magazines and papers.
Describe my desk.
My desk is my laptop. I do all my writing on it and backup everything.
What time of the day do I write.
I write mostly in the evening.
Do I enjoy writing.
I think writing is a real challenge and can be a lot of work, but when I hold the finished book in my hand , it is a real joy.
