Marie will take the reader on an adventure with twists and turns that will keep you reading to the very end.
Who are your favorite authors?
My all time favorite author was Sidney Sheldon. "The Other Side of Midnight" still takes my breath away after all these years.
I also have a love for John Grisham's writing. Stephen King takes me on an adventure with the turn of every page. Last but certainly not lease, would be Kimberla Lawson Roby, I never get enough of Rev. Curtis. My new favorite author is Tiffany Warren.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I love life and my relationship with God. I love reading and writing stories that entertain.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love to cook when I am not writing. I love to work in my yard; although you wouldn't know it if you drove by my house. I also have a son in college, which is a full time job keeping him on track.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I sometimes ask friends or I may browse a magazine at Walmart to see what's new.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Oh yes most definately. It was some time ago. It was a short story for a children's book titled "Litttle Bears Adventures." I take it out of retirement every once in awhile to get me motivated.
What is your writing process?
I wish I have one. To be perfectly honest I will hear characters talking in my head. When I acknowledge the voice the story comes to life.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes! I was between 6 and 8. It was toward the end of the school year. All of my friends were outside playing and running, but I was in my room reading "Strawberry Girl." I must have read that book over a dozen times. I'm no spring chicken so i'm sure it's out of print. I would love to have a copy.
How do you approach cover design?
Cover design is crucial. The cover sells your books. With my lastest book, "The Blessing" the red stream on the cover is the focal point of the book. The reader may assume it blood, but later learn that the color of the river is the reason it called "The Blessing."
What are your five favorite books, and why?
The Other Side of Midnigh, Sidney Sheldon - non stop actions.
The Appeal, John Grisham- I love mysterious and it's a thriller to the end
Farther than I Meant to Go Longer that I Meant to Stay, Tiffany Warren- this book was so real it made me mad and want to cry at the same time.
Don't Look Back, Lynette Eason- Wonderful book, solid suspense to the end.
My book, The Blessing, wonderder story of tragedy to triumph.
