Interview with M.W. Kilgore

What's the story behind your latest book?
A few years ago, I was sitting in church waiting for the service to begin. In the pew behind me, I overheard a young child speaking with her father. He was asking her to be sure she behaved herself while in church and if she did, he would take her out for lunch afterwards. She replied to him, "But, Dad, it is boring just sitting here. Why can't this be fun?"

Right then, something clicked in me. I began thinking that to a younger member of the church, the sermon from the minister might seem boring. That afternoon, I set out to begin a series of Christian books that would appeal to young and old alike to read about different lessons in our life, while still enjoying a fun storyline.

The first thing I had to do was to come up with a character that people would enjoy reading about. Therefore, Gig was created. Gig is an angel of God who is fun-loving and has a great sense of humor, but is very professional when it come to speaking of God or the scriptures. As with any good team, there must be a partner who is more straight than the other. I introduce you now to Reverend Paul Saluart. Paul is a young priest at a church in Southern Missouri, trying to find a way to bring the people back to listen to His words.

All through history, mankind has created mistakes which have disrupted God's plan for the people on this earth. Gig and Paul must now go on thier missions to the past to correct the mistakes of mankind and help put the path of the earth back to where God intended it to be.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
After reading a few of the other indie author's books created on Smashwords, I decided this would be the right company to work with. I have been fortunate enough to meet other Smashword authors and have listened to their praises of this site.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of others reading my works are the reviews I have received. For many years, I wrote just to be writing. Now I know I am able to bring smiles to the faces of my fans and never get tired of them asking when the next book will be coming out.
What do your fans mean to you?
The fans are the greatest compliment a writer can get. I have had both Christian and non-Christian readers who have read the first book and have given it high praises.
What are you working on next?
After reading some of my fans responses to the first book, and asking when the next one would be coming out, I figured I had better get going on the second book of the 'Gig presents' series.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
There are many great e-book sites on the web, however, I have been fortunate to find a few that are my favorites. This would include Smashwords itself, and page on F.B. named 'A Smashwords Book for Everyone' which has reviews and descriptions of many of the indie author's books.
